The basic use of brakes is to keep the cart in places when left on the golf course. As you know most golf courses are hilly in nature the golfer always is in need of pushing or pulling the cart down or up the hill. At times he may have to place the cart on the hill and in such circumstances the brakes play an important role. The weight of the cart tends to be high owing to all the equipment clubs and gear it carries. In such instances it is advisable to ensure that the cart comes with a hand break that helps the golfer to slow down the pace. Most carts only have manual brakes at the wheels. The hand brake is a simple mechanism located at the handle of the cart just as in bicycles but not all carts are designed with such brakes.
